Christina & Justin | An Intimate New York City Engagement Session | New York City Wedding Photographer

A few weeks ago I flew up to New York City and got to finally meet Christina and Justin! They are having a beautiful June 2019 wedding at Stone Mill Inn near my hometown in Pennsylvania! We had been communicating via email and FaceTime, so I was excited to meet them in person, finally! You guys, they are SO FUN!!!! Immediately upon meeting them, we instantly clicked, like we were long time friends catching up after so much time away. Christina and I hit it off right away after she initially inquired about her wedding date, but there is something extra special and fun about hanging out in person.

Christina and Justin met in college at a local bar - to be precise. When I asked Christina to tell me a little more their story and how Justin proposed, this is what she said: “Our engagement story: Justin and I met in college at a bar/restaurant named Brix on a Sunday watching football playoffs. After locking eyes a few times across the bar, he worked up the nerve to come tap me on the shoulder. His opening line was, "Do you want to pick a song on the juke box?" and I responded, "Um.. Im kind of watching football." We both cracked up at his ridiculous line, and we ended up talking for hours and not even watching the games. For our engagement, we were driving past our college town and Justin suggested we have lunch where we met (which neither of us had been back to since graduating). Justin had called ahead and talked to the waitress about filming our engagement secretively. Unfortunately, right before Justin began his proposal speech, the waitress came within 3 feet of my face with the camera recording, and I asked Justin why she was filming us. It turned into a quick drop to his knee, some words I don't remember, me saying "Wait really?!" over and over, and then a ring on my finger. Although it wasn't the most magical proposal moment (thanks overly excited waitress haha), the place it was at holds a spot in our hearts, and Justin had planned the following 3 days to spend celebrate with our families <3.”

Christina is a nurse at a school in the heart of Manhattan (near the Flat Iron building — one of my favorite spots in the city), and Justin works in sales, also near the same area. They commute everyday on the subway from their cute little neighborhood in Queens. Christina is also a health coach. I follow her on Instagram and she’s inspired me to get into a regular exercise routine, eat healthy and meal prep for the week. She probably doesn’t know how much she’s inspired me. My clients become sweet friendships in my life.

Together, they have a major love for traveling and football (my kind of couple!). Right after their engagement, Justin and Christina took a trip to Europe and explored France, England, Italy and Ireland! (I am so jealous!). I already plan to ask for Christina’s frugal traveling tips and tricks. This girl knows how to travel well on a budget! :)

I couldn’t wait get into the city for their engagement session. We had a lot of fun grabbing taxis, dodging NYC traffic and chasing the sunlight before it set behind the city. Afterwards, we grabbed drinks and appetizers at one of their favorite Mexican restaurants. This engagement session is going in the books as one of my very favorites — more NYC sessions, please. ;)
