Fine Art Micro Luxury Weddings: Bringing European Styled Weddings to the US – Inspiration for Your Small Wedding

Hi friend!

I am so glad you’re here and hope you find some exciting and new inspiration for your wedding! Over the last three months, we have watched the wedding industry change quite a bit. While Covid-19 has influenced these changes, I rather not focus on that. As a fine art wedding photographer, I want to focus on how these changes are going to bring really wonderful new ideas, trends and traditional, classic elements to weddings.

The most significant change there will be in the wedding industry is the return of smaller, intimate weddings - micro luxury weddings. We will be seeing weddings consisting of smaller groups (25-50 guests) of your closest family and friends celebrating your marriage. Intimate weddings are classy and traditional and very European. European style weddings consist of small ceremonies and receptions, luxurious story-telling details and florals, long tables for a family style sit down 5 course meal and of course, dancing!

Specializing in fine art wedding photography, I am personally such a fan of this new change! I had my own micro luxury wedding (blog post coming!) and it was the best decision. Micro luxury weddings allow for more time to soak in each moment of your wedding day! So often couples tell me how their day flew by and felt they did not get to soak it all in. Having a small wedding changes this. It opens your wedding day timeline for much less stress. You give yourself the luxury of slower more intentional moments with family, friends and most importantly, with each other.

When you have less guests attending (which doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate with the larger guest list later), it means you can take your budget and put more into the elements that matter the most to you: the venue, the photographer, the videographer, the florals, the story-telling details, the family style multi-course meal and create an exceptional experience for you and those you love! It also means you can put more towards your honeymoon, too! ;)

Smaller weddings allow for more intentional conversations with your loved ones. It creates space for memorable conversations and to be fully present in the moment. It also gives you much more time with your photographer for your portraits and to get photos with family and friends!
